KEY RECOMMENDATIONS
- For a 2000 kcal daily intake, the guidelines suggest specific quantities of cereals, vegetables, fruits, pulses/eggs/flesh foods, nuts and seeds, and fats/oils.
- Macronutrients and micronutrients should be sourced from a minimum of eight groups of foods.
- Cereal intake should be limited to 45 percent of total energy to prevent micronutrient deficiencies.

Sugar intake should be limited to less than 5 percent of total energy intake to mitigate the risk of NCDs. Additionally, the report advises against the prolonged use of protein supplements for body mass building, citing potential dangers such as bone mineral loss and kidney damage.
