The research highlights that significant dietary improvements lead to larger life expectancy gains, with sustained changes initiated at older ages still resulting in substantial benefits.

The study emphasizes that individuals aged 70 can extend their life expectancy by around 4 to 5 years by making sustained and positive dietary changes.
