Prime Minister NarendraModi unveiled this remarkable project on May 18, International Museum Day, during the inauguration of the International Museum Expo at Delhi’s PragatiMaidan. He delighted visitors by launching a virtual walkthrough, offering a sneak peek into what this grand museum has in store.

The recently inaugurated International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre (IECC) complex, now named Bharat Mandapam, will house the YugeYugeen Bharat National Museum. With a vast campus area of approximately 123 acres and a cost of around IMR 2,700 crore, this center stands as a testament to India’s rich cultural heritage spanning 5,000 years.


The museum’s eight thematic segments will cover a wide range of historical eras, from ancient Indian knowledge to the transition from ancient to medieval times, the colonial era, the freedom struggle, and the subsequent 100 years from 1947 onwards. With a forward-looking approach, the museum promises to captivate visitors with its thought-provoking exhibits.

Immerse yourself in a digital wonderland with the virtual walkthrough, offering a tantalizing glimpse of the breath-taking gardens and galleries yet to come. Explore fascinating exhibits on ancient town planning systems, ancient medical knowledge, the wisdom of the Vedas and Upanishads, and much more.
