Prime Minister Narendra Modion September 30 flagged off the new Vande Bharat Express, which is the third in the Vande Bharat series with more advancements and improved features. After dedicating the new Express train that runs between Gandhinagar and Mumbai, he also travelled on the train from Gandhinagar to Kalupur Railway Station.

Vande Bharat Express 2.0 between Gandhinagar and Mumbai is going to be a game changer and will boost connectivity between the two business hubs of India. It will enable business owners from Gujarat to travel to Mumbai and vice versa without bearing the brunt of high-cost airline tickets while availing facilities that are available on air. One-way travel time of Vande Bharat Express 2.0 from Gandhinagar to Mumbai is estimated at around five and a half hours.

The Vande Bharat Express 2.0 offers a myriad of superior and aircraft-like travelling experiences. The train will be equipped with more advancements and improved features like 0 to 100 Kmpl speed in just 52 second, maximum speed up to 180 Kmph, lesser weight of 392 ton instead of 430 ton and WI-FI content on demand.
The new Vande Bharat will also have 32-inch LCD TVs which was of 24 inch in earlier version. 15 percent more energy efficient ACs with dust free clean air cooling of traction motor will make the travel more comfortable. Side recliner seat facility which is being provided to Executive Class passengers, will now be made available for all classes. In the new design of the Express, photo-catalytic ultra violet air purification system is installed in the roof mounted Roof Mounted Package Unit (RMPU) for air purification.

The new version of the Express train is equipped with advanced state-of-the-art safety features including an indigenously developed Train Collision Avoidance System – KAVACH.
Coaches have disaster lights and their battery backup is for three hours. The exterior has eight flatform-side cameras, up from four. There is also passenger-guard communication facility in coaches, which comes with automatic voice recording feature.
