Two of the world’s celebrity Coronavirus victims have shared their blood to fight the virus. It is none other than Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson, who recovered from coronavirus disease.
In a tweet, Tom Hanks posted a picture of the plasma collected from his blood saying, “here’s last week’s bag of Plasma. Such a Bag! After the paper work, it’s easy as raking a nap.”
Tom Hanks also thanked UCLA and infectious disease epidemiologist and director of the Center for Global Immigrant Health Anne Rimoin in the tweet.
He had revealed donating his plasma to cure coronavirus patients during his appearance on NPR’s comedic radio game show. During the show, he said that and his wife would donate their blood for further coronavirus research.
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson contracted the disease while in Australia. They were under treatment for the deadly virus for about two weeks. He was in the country for shooting a film. However, the two got cured and returned back to Los Angeles.
