Kerala recorded 5980 Covid 19 cases on February 10 and the test positivity rate stood at 7.47.

Ernakulam district reported the highest number of 811 cases. Kollam was he next with 689. Kozhikode reported 652, Kottayam 575, Pathanamthitta 571, Thrissur 540, Thiruvananthapuram 455 and Malappuram 421. While Alappuzha reported 411 cases, Kannur had 213 Covid patients, Wayanad 201, Palakkad 191, Idukki 179 and Kasaragod 71 Covid cases on February 10.

Ernakulam reports the highest number of Covid cases

Briefing reporters in Thiruvanathapuram, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that no one who had arrived from the UK tested positive for Covid 19 in the last 24 hours. So far, 81 persons who arrived from the UK tested positive for Covid 19. Ten persons were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.

Test positivity rate comes down

The Chief Minister said that 80,106 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. A total of 1,02,94,203 samples were tested in the state till now that included routine sample test, Sentinel sample test, CBNAT, TRUNAT, POCT. PCR, RTLAMP and Antigen tests.

3920 deaths recorded until now

With 18 Covid related deaths reported in the last 24 hours, the total deaths due to Covid 19 stood at 3920.

Ninety-six of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the state. A total of 5457 people were infected through contact and the source of 386 people was not known.

Covid 19 also affected 41 health workers in the last 24 hours. The test results of 5745 people who were diagnosed with the disease came out negative.

About 2.34 lakh people are under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 2,24,378 are under home or institutional quarantine and 10,389 in hospitals across the state. A total of 1178 people were admitted to the hospital on February 10.
