Black adults face a disheartening reality – they are 54% more likely to succumb to cardiovascular disease compared to their White counterparts. Six Key Foods for Lower Cardiovascular Disease

A study led by McMaster University and Hamilton Health Sciences highlights the importance of consuming a combination of six key foods to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, fish, and whole-fat dairy products were found to be crucial in preventing heart attacks and strokes. The research, conducted globally, emphasizes the significance of a healthy diet and offers various options to achieve it.

By 2050, NCD to Account for 86 Percent Deaths Each Year

With non-communicable diseases (NCDs) claiming around three quarters of all lives lost each year, the World Health Organisation (WHO) warned that chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes and respiratory illnesses would account for 86 per cent of deaths each year by 2050.
