The great India sale is on everywhere, especially in the online portals.
Though offers are raining on all products across categories and the online market places, mobile phones especially the smart phones are the toast of the season. The manufacturers have added stocks, sellers have strengthened delivery chains and the consumers have come out open with Diwali bonus, all resulting in the great Indian sale.
All leading e-tailers like Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal, Paytm Mall, Shopclues, Myntra, and Club Factory have been offering huge discounts all these days running upto Diwali. Offers are attractive too, on any phone whether it is Samsung Galaxy M10s, Samsung Galaxy A10s, Vivo U10, Nokia 6.2, OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, Redmi 7A, iPhone XR, or Poco F1. Amazon has offered upto 40% price cut for the smartphones.
According to the figures available, last Diwali season saw the sales growing 26% on year-on-year basis. Xiaomi has sold over one million handsets last year and 43% of the sale happened from the online market places. The Chinese player thus accounted for 29% of the total smartpone sale during the festival season of 2018.
Samsung, another hot pick of the last season, 19% share in the season’s market, but majority of its sale (30%) came through offline sales. The company is hoping to net in a business of around ₹3,000 crore from sale of over 20 lakh mobile phones online during the current current festive season.
The initial phase of sale so far has been encouraging to the leader already. Chinese handset maker Xiaomi achieved a record-breaking sale of over 53 lakh devices including Mi TVs – which means 525 devices per minute – in just six days of sales on Amazon.in and Flipkart.
The season also saw many new launches. Redmi Note 8 Pro and Redmi Note 8 were launched in India this week, the latest models in the Xiaomi’s extremely popular Redmi Note series of smartphones.
E-commerce platform Snapdeal has recorded a 50% jump in sales and buyers from non-metro sales contributed more to the sale. The company said 90% of its orders were placed by shoppers in non-metro and tier 2, tier 3 cities like Nagpur, Surat, Vijayawada, Chandigarh, Panaji, Shimla, Guwahati, Roorkee, etc.
