The elderly population are more vulnerable to coronavirus. Moreover, the old people having kidney, heart and other ailments are unlikely to survive the infection. Now the question many pose is if these people should have to be kept in isolation for another year. This has become a topic of discussion in some quarters after European Union chief Ursula von der Leyen made a similar statement.
Noting that vaccine has not yet been found out, she told a German media said there should be a limit to the contact with elderly people. She also pointed out that isolation was a burden. But the question is between life and death and one should have to be more disciplined.
On Vaccine, she hoped that a European Lab would soon come up with a vaccine before the year end.
Coronavirus has infected more than 1.5 million people and killed more than a lakh.
