Royal Enfield has launched the Guerrilla 450 globally. This premium modern roadster is based on the Sherpa 450 platform and features the powerful Himalayan 450 engine. With a 452cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, the Guerrilla 450 promises enhanced performance and style. This launch is set to boost Royal Enfield’s sales, addressing the recent decline.

Pricing and Availability

The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is now available for bookings in India and Europe. In India, the introductory price is INR 2,39,000 (ex-showroom). Test rides and retail sales will begin on August 1, 2024. In Europe, retail sales will start in mid-August.

Engine Specifications

The Guerrilla 450 is equipped with a 452cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled Sherpa engine. This engine has a 4-valve DOHC setup, delivering 40 PS at 8,000 rpm and 40 NM of torque at 5,500 rpm. More than 85% of its torque is available from 3,000 rpm, ensuring a responsive ride.

Cooling and Gearbox

The engine features a water-cooled system with an integrated water pump, twin-pass radiator, and internal bypass. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring an assist and slip clutch. This combination offers smooth and efficient performance.

DESIGN ELEMENTS

Headlight and Indicators

The Guerrilla 450 boasts a design inspired by the Himalayan. It features a round-shaped headlight setup with split-side indicators. The rear lacks a taillight but includes reflectors, maintaining the classic Himalayan style.

Fuel Tank

An 11-litre tear-drop-shaped fuel tank enhances its aggressive look. This design element sets it apart in its segment, offering both style and functionality.

SEATING COMFORT

The Guerrilla 450 provides a comfortable ride with a seat height of 780 mm and grab handles for the pillion. Unlike the Himalayan, this seat does not offer adjustability but ensures a stable and comfortable ride for both the rider and passenger.

ENGINE AND POWER

Powertrain

The Guerrilla 450 shares its powertrain with the Himalayan, using the same 452 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. It generates a maximum power of 39.47 bhp at 8,000 rpm and peak torque of 40 Nm at 5,500 rpm. This engine is designed for high performance and reliability.

Transmission and Ride-by-Wire

The 6-speed transmission is complemented by a slip-and-assist clutch, enhancing the riding experience. Additionally, the Guerrilla 450 features a ride-by-wire system for better throttle response and control.

SUSPENSION AND WHEELS

Suspension Setup

The front suspension consists of a 43 mm telescopic fork with gutters, while the rear features a 140 mm linkage-type mono-shock. This setup ensures a smooth and stable ride, even on rough terrains.

Alloy Wheels and Tyres

The motorcycle runs on stylish alloy wheels. The tubeless tyres, specially created by Ceat, are designed for multiple terrains, offering excellent grip and durability.
