Health workers can now heave a sigh of relief from cross infection of Covid-19 with a new robot developed for performing nasal swab tests. Taiwan based company Brain Navi developed the new robot, which can help in protecting the health workers from infection and also reduce the strain on health systems.
Brain Navi Nasal Swab helps to reduce the contact with highly infected patients when collecting samples. The health workers need no fear of contacting the illness. The robot can automatically recognise the face and the nostrils location and take the swab. This avoids physical contact.
Brain Navi said that the Nasal Swab Robot uses the fundamental functions of NaoTrac, a neurosurgical navigation robot. NaoTrac was also developed by the company. This robot is claimed to have successfully performed 15 human trial cases at the Hualien Tzu-Chi Medical Center.
