Pilates workout helps obese young women maintain healthy heart

In the recent times, Pilates training has seen much popularity. This work out became widely known for maintaining a healthy and to have a good body posture. Apart from giving a perfect body, Pilates workout is now proved good for improving cardiovascular health in women.

A new study published in the American Journal of Hypertension claimed that Pilates improves blood pressure and cardiovascular health for young obese women. Obese young women between 18 and 27 years of age were selected for the study. The women had high blood pressure and body mass between 30-40 kg/m2. They underwent Pilates workout for 12 weeks.

Exercise is a key factor in reducing body fat and keeping good health, obese women tend not to go for traditional work outs. It is here where Pilates makes the difference. The findings show that Pilates help in maintaining cardiovascular health by decreasing body fats, arterial stiffness and blood pressure.

This is one of the first studies with respect to Pilates and cardiovascular health.
