For the last one week, some, not everyone, might have noticed this. No hike in petro prices for the last ten days, exactly from February 27. You might have been curious, bewildered or even astonished. Nevertheless, a fact that prices have not increased in the last one week and hope will not until the month end.
Nothing official and nothing political!!! Some might say it is election time and petro companies will not dare to add an extra paisa every day. Some might even say that unheard instructions were passed on to the oil companies not to burden the people with an extra paisa every day during the election month. Kerala, West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are going to polls from March 27.
Also, other takers say that the price saw no increase over the days because of the dip in International Barrel rates. Well, the obliviousness could be pardoned, as history has never recorded that the prices always shot up even when the Barrel prices went low.
All over vehement criticism rose over the fuel price rise even before the announcement of poll dates and even now, the criticism has not settled down. The Centre can see no fault of its own in the fluctuating price hike but for the oil companies who have untoward freedom to increase or decrease the price at their helm. Noting official on the part of the Centre!!!!
The only tag is that people can heave a sigh for at least a month. But not to last long as they have long past experiences. Can one forget the election time of 2018 when for almost 20 days to the run up to the elections in Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Telangana, the fuel price did not fluctuate to a higher graph?
Let there be elections and people always have relief………
