Is Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan fearing Prime Minister Narendra Modi? Well, the Opposition in Kerala has alleged that Vijayan is afraid to criticise Modi.

The Opposition raised the allegation while Vijayan presented the resolution against the farm bills of the centre, which the assembly adopted on December 31. Kerala became the fifth state to oppose the Centre’s farm laws when it passed the resolution in the state Assembly.

The opposition United Democratic Front alleged that Vijayan did not criticise the Prime Minister by name when he presented the resolution against the farm bills. They also criticised the government’s approach towards Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan even though he denied permission to convene the special assembly session.

The Opposition, opposing the bills in the assembly, had taken the name of Narendra Modi several times. They also said that the government decided to take a stand against the farm bills only after 100 days of its passing. The opposition wanted an amendment to the resolution, adding the portion criticising the Prime Minister.

However, Vijayan rejecting the allegations and stated that criticising the Centre was equivalent to criticising the Prime Minister. The government did not heed to the opposition demand of the amendment in the resolution.vijayan5

The Opposition was also critical that the state government did not criticise or oppose the Governor’s stand. They came out against the government for sending two ministers to the Governor with Christmas cake. They alleged that the two ministers were sent to the government to plead for granting permission for the urgent session.
