“Anything for Mumbai. We cant do work from home, we are on the field for you, stay at your home, take care,” there are the words of Mumbai’s First Citizen Kishori Pednekar. It is not her words that are widely discussed but the act of donning her old Nursing Uniform and volunteering has caught the eye of all.
Taking to twitter, Mayor Kishori Pednekar posted these words and also a picture of hers. She also posted an inspirational video after her visit to the Nair Hospital. She had served as a nurse before joining politics.
During the visit, she interacted with the nurses and also with the nursing students. She said that the doctors and nurses were doing their best at the hardest of times. The whole state is with them, she added.
She hoped that her move would motivate others to come out and join the fight against the pandemic. The Mayor also said that the situation in Maharashtra was not good and asked everyone to take all precautionary measures and to adhere to the instructions of the Government.
Kishori Pednekar is a three time Shiv Sena corporator. She was elected unopposed to the Mayor’s post in November 2019.
