“Mission Sagar”; Indian helping hand for neighbours in Corona time

In line with its commitment to help the neighbours, India sent Food Items, COVID related Medicines including HCQ Tablets and Special Ayurvedic Medicines with Medical Assistance Teams to neighbouring countries to help them out of Coronavirus pandemic.

Indian Naval Ship Kesari departed for Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles, Madagascar and Comoros May 10, 2020.  The mission is named “Mission Sagar. India is first to respond in the region to help the countries that are battling COVID-19 pandemic.

The deployment is in consonance with the Prime Minister’s vision of Security and Growth for All in the Region ‘SAGAR’ and highlights the importance accorded by India to relations with her neighbouring countries and further strengthens the existing bond, an official release said. The operation is being progressed in close coordination with the Ministries of Defence and External Affairs, and other agencies of the Government of India.
