Mindpool, A Platform For The Environment People

Six in Seven Feels Insecure

People across the world can now involve in finding solutions to the climate emergency, thanks to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) launching Global Mindpool, a collective intelligence platform.

The collective platform forms part of the major global campaign ‘Don’t Choose Extinction’ on climate and inequality. An online tool, citizens can make their voices heard on all issues that affects all humanity. The Users can share their observations, knowledge and suggestions on climate change and energy policies.

DECISION MAKERS

Global Mindpool will distil it into authentic, predictive, and actionable data to better inform decision-makers in government, civil society, and the private sector. Director of the Bureau of External Relations and Advocacy at UN Modeer said that the UNDP through this collective intelligence aims to know what citizens feel, fear and hope about the issues to be able to bridge the gap between people and policy makers.

UNDP will use the data collected to inform policy makers on possible paths to a sustainable future for all. Built in partnership between UNDP and Mindpool, a Danish technology firm specializing in collective intelligence, the platform was presented at the Web Summit 2021 by actor and UNDP Goodwill Ambassador Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and CEO and co-founder of Mindpool Mik Thobo-Carlsen.

Thobo-Carlsen noted that collective intelligence was grounded in the notion “we’re smarter and better when we work together. Local knowledge and local solutions are vital, given how climate change affects different communities in unique and specific ways. We can then translate this deeper broader understanding into lasting change and effective solutions.”

“The platform is quick and easy to join. It asks you questions such as Is your country doing enough to fight climate change?’ and ‘Is climate change affecting you personally?’. You provide answers and UNDP will amplify your voices to key decision-makers around the globe” said Coster-Waldau. The core idea of Global Mindpool is that pooling the minds of people from all over the world helps build a collective intelligence that can identify the best solutions to the climate crisis.

AIM

The aim of Global Mindpool is to advocate for meaningful climate action and to empower an increasing number of people by creating a platform for global citizens involvement. Global Mindpool mobilizes the collective intelligence of the global population to harvest the insights that can lead to the most effective, valuable and meaningful solutions that will move the needle on climate change
