The UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs has called for making full use of digital technologies to confront Coronavirus pandemic.

In the present situation, the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs asked the governments to adopt an open approach. The world body also asked governments to use digital communication channels to provide reliable information on all developments.

As there is no slow down of the coronavirus attack, most of the countries are turning towards digital technologies to respond to the crisis.

It said that majority of the countries have posted data on the developments, including the number of cases detected, cured patients, lock down details and so on.  Many of the governments have also designed aaps and other online services to tackle the pandemic.  However, the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs said that some of the countries lacked the financial as well as human resource to develop digital tools. It asked such governments to tie up with private companies, national or international organisations and social entrepreneurs to meet their digital needs.

The UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs also asked the countries to make use of the crisis to establish digital government tools and evolve strategies and collaborations for the future. Now it is a known fact that no country or society can ignore technological advancements as they are changing business models and the life of the people.
