Noting that the State Government was expanding the functions of the K R Narayanan Institute in Kottayam, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the institute will be upgraded to the level of Pune Film Institute.
He said this while interacting with social media activists in Thiruvananthapuram on February 9.
With respect to the increase of cybercrime, the Chef Minister pointed out that such crimes would not be tolerated and dealt with strongly. He mentioned that online violence against women was taken in all its seriousness. The police and the Department of Social Justice are taking the necessary steps. Vijayan also noted that he would look into the demand of training school children in video production and discuss with education experts from which class to start.
Pointing out that a tremendous change will come over with the introduction of K phone. The common man will get free internet.
On reports that Karunya scheme was stalled, Vijayan said that it was only a false propaganda. The people will get the benefits of Karunya scheme, he added. With respect to providing medicines at a low price, the Chief Minister said that steps were taken for the production of low cost medicines at the KSDP. The government is also considering home delivery of such drugs through primary and family health centers, he added.
He further told the gathering that steps have now been taken to promote organic farming among children. More young people have shown interest in farming. The Chief Minister also mentioned KDisk portal launched with an aim provide employment to the unemployed at home.
In tourism sector, Vijayan said that the government was committed to providing the necessary facilities to travellers. Wayside amenity centers will be opened on the sides of major highways on the lines of the same facility that is available in other places and countries.
