Kerala’s Own Laptops to hit Market in Jan 2020

Coconics, Kerala’s indigenously developed laptops will be in the market by January 2020. Kerala Chief Minister Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan took to the face book to announce that Kerala’s own brand of lap tops, Coconics, will hit the markets in January 2020.

A make in India product, Coconics is a public private company set up in collaboration of Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation, Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation, UST Global, Acceleron Labs. Apart from this, Intel is providing the technical assistance.

Vijayan in his facebook page said that three models in four different colours will be in market by January. The three models are CC11B, CC11A, and C314A.

CC11B is a 2-in-1 notebook with an 11-inch full HD touchscreen display, 4GB RAM, Intel Celeron N3350 processor, USB Type-C connectivity and 64GB eMMC storage. It also comes up with eight hours of battery backup and aimed at frequent travellers. CC11A is a lightweight notebook mainly for educational institutions. It comes with an 11-inch HD display, 2GB RAM, 64GB eMMC storage and Intel Celeron N4000 processor.  C314A is mainly for the enterprise market with a 14-inch HD display. Other features include Intel i3 7100U processor, 500GB HDD storage and 4GB RAM.

Customised for Indian users, the first range of products is aimed at Government, Education and Enterprise markets. The laptops are being manufactured at the plant in Monvilla near Thiruvananthapuram. The plant has a capacity to manufacture about 2,50,000 laptops annually.
