As many as 2140 health workers and 5450 front line fighters got vaccinated against Covid 19 vaccine in Kerala, according to the Kerala Health Minister K K Shylaja.
A total of 3,38,365 people have been vaccinated in the state so far in two categories. The vaccine drive was held in 167 vaccination centers. Thiruvananthapuram district had the highest number of 50 vaccination centers. Palakkad district had 20 vaccination centres followed by Malappuram 17, Wayanad 16. Alappuzha and Kottayam 13 each, Ernakulam 12, Kannur 9, Kollam 8, Thrissur 4, Idukki 3 and Kozhikode 2 vaccination centres.
The highest number of health workers who took the vaccination was from Ernakulam. In the district, 767 health workers got vaccinated. The district of Kannur saw 508 health workers getting vaccinated. When 331 health workers in Thrissur received the vaccination, 320 health workers in Malappuram got it. In Palakkad, only 20 health workers got the vaccination and the figure stood at 17 in Alappuzha. A total of 3,32,915 health workers received the vaccine will now.
The highest number of Covid front line workers who received the vaccination is from the capital district of Thiruvananthapuram (1442). Wayanad had the next highest number of front line workers of 1112, Palakkad comes next with 824 front line workers, Kollam 660, Kottayam 606, Alappuzha 555, Kozhikode 163 and Ernakulam 88 health workers.
The Covid 19 front line workers include the personnel from the police, other forces, municipal staff, revenue and panchayat. A total of 1,29,258 people are registered, including 78,701 home department employees, 6,600 municipal employees, 16,735 revenue department employees and 27,222 panchayat employees.
In Thiruvananthapuram, DGP Loknath Bahra and ADGP Manoj Abraham and District Collector Navjyot Khosa received the vaccine. Ernakulam ADM K A Mohammad Shafi, Kottayam District Collector M Anjana, District Police Chief D K. Shilpa and sub-collector Rajeev Kumar Chaudhary received the vaccine.
