The emergence of career guidance and training institutes has seen an exponential growth with competition increasing in all spheres. Apart from private institutions, the state governments have also come up for starting such career institutes to equip the youth for entrance and other competitive examinations. Kerala, which has always come up with new ideas, is all set for imparting proper training and guidance to the students who aspire to crack entrance and other competitive exams.
Claimed to be the first of its kind in the country, Kerala proposes to launch a Career Development Mission at the Employment Directorate and centres of the mission at all the districts. It has been reported that the policy has been drafted and would be made public for opinion.
The government has drawn up such an initiative after it was found that the students from Kerala were far behind in securing admissions in prestigious institutions. Moreover, it was also found that private institutions were fleecing the students.
As per the draft, a group of career trainers would be deployed at the employment exchanges who would be giving counselling to candidates for preparation of resume, interviews, group discussions and about the new trends in the national and international employment scenario. Moreover, entrance classes will also be started for students who seek admissions in various professional institutions.
