Hundreds of doctors and experts will join together at Kovalam in Kerala for the 3rd Annual Conference of Society of Coronary Imaging and Physiology ( SCIP ), which will kick start on October 19.
Interventional Cardiologists from across India will meet at Hotel LeelaRaviz, Kovalam, and deliberate on the latest advancements in coronary imaging and physiology.
SCIP National President Dr C G Bahuleyan will inaugurate the meet. Dr P K Asokan, Dr V K Ajithkumar, Dr S Harikrishnan, Dr S Praveen and Dr A George Koshy will address the inaugural session.
On Coronary imaging, Organizing Chairman of the conference Bahuleyan said that Coronary imaging was the key for taking decisions on treatments and to get the best level of precision in coronary angioplasty. The extend of plaque built up in the blood vessels that lead to its narrowing could be accurately determined through advanced invasive techniques. Moreover, the physiological assessment of coronary arteries would help in Interventional cardiologists to identify cases which really require intervention, he said.
On the conference Organizing Secretary Dr George Koshy A said ten scientific sessions would be held in the two days conference. Basics to advanced techniques of imaging of blood vessels from inside using Intra Vascular Ultra Sound (IVUS) and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and physiologic-guided cardiac treatments will be discussed. Special sessions will be held on PCI Optimisation, OCT Imaging in bifurcation and Evaluation in Stent, he added.
