Indian PM to have tunnel road from his residence to Office

Is it that the Indian Prime Minister is going to have a dedicated tunnel for going to his office and parliament? If reports are to be believed, the Prime Minister is going to have a dedicated tunnel road for his movement.

Moreover, there are also reports that special routes are being designed for the movement of politicians so that the public are not affected because of traffic blockades and other inconveniences.

All these details were shared by master planner Bimal Patel last week. Noting that the new routes would help to bring down inconvenience to the public, he said that the Motorcade of the Prime Minister will get a tunnel passage to his office and parliament and also to other places.
He also presented a map of the new residence complexes of the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister’s residence will be moved near South Block and the Vice President’s residence would be moved behind the North Block. As per the design, the offices of the defence personnel will be moved and the Special Protection Group will have its office here. The two blocks that now house different ministries will be converted into a museum.

The design has been made by Patel’s company HCP Design. As per the design, the South Block will be converted into a Museum of India up to 1857 and the North Block . The design also includes ten new buildings along the Rajpath for accommodating the various offices now scattered in the capital city.

It has been said that the government could save rs 1000 Crore with respect to rent in case the government employees are accommodated in these buildings.
