Indian crossed landmark in Covid 9 vaccination when more than two million people across the country got vaccination till now. On the 52nd day of vaccination drive (March 8, 2021), 20,19,723 people got the vaccination. Out of which, 17,15,380 were vaccinated across 28,884 sessions for first dose and 3,04,343 received the 2nd dose of vaccine.

EIGHT STATES WITH HIGHEST CASES 

Meanwhile, an official statement said that Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Karnataka continued to report a surge in the COVID daily new cases. They cumulatively account for 84.04 per cent of the new cases reported in the past 24 hours, the statement said. Eight states displayed an upward trajectory in daily new cases, the ministry said.

POSITIVE CASES 

The Ministry said that 15,388 new cases were registered in the last 24 hours. Maharashtra reported the highest daily new cases at 8,744 followed by Kerala with 1,412 case. While Punjab reported 1,229 new cases, Tamil Nadu reported 556 cases, Gujarat 555 and Karnataka 436 cases. India’s total Active Case load reached 1,87,462 on March 8. The country’s present active caseload stood at 1.67per cent of India’s total Positive Cases, the Ministry said. In the last 24 hours, four states-Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Shimla and Tripura did not report any new Cavid19 cases.
