‘Hum Har Nahi Manenge’, a song of motivation at Corona time

‘Hum Har Nahi Manenge’ (We will not give Up), the song of motivation and inspiration at the time of corona pandemic, is now a hit reminding that everyone has stood together against the pandemic and would continue.

AR Rahman gave music to the lyrics of Prasoon Joshi. The song is sung by veterans like Mohit Chauhan, Micah Singh, Harshdeep Kaur, Khatija Rahman, Mohini Dey and Shasa Tirupat.

The song was conceptualised by HDFC Bank. The bank will contribute Rs 500 to the PM Cares Fund every time this song is shared in the social media.

Rahman was quoted in the media as saying that the song was about bringing everyone together for an important task. He said that they hoped it would bring the country together. Lyricist Prasoon Joshi said that there was a need to stay apart but still has to be together. It was this concept that led to the song, he said.

Rahman said that once the singers recorded the song from their homes once the composition was over. It took just ten days for them to record it.

The Grammy award winner composer and Joshi had earlier worked together. Joshi is now head of CBFC and has written many anthems, including the one for Swachh Bharat.
