People with artificial intelligence (AI) skills can significantly increase their salaries with a potential increase as high as 40%, according to a recent study by researchers from the Oxford Internet Institute and the Centre for Social Data Science at the University of Copenhagen.

But it also could disrupt job markets, challenge democratic principles, and exacerbate inequalities, both within our society and between nations,” said lan Goldin, a renowned Professor of Globalization and Development at the Oxford Martin School, and co-author of an insightful report.

Dr. Pantelis Koutroumpis, the Director of the Oxford Martin Programme on Technological and Economic Change and co-author of the report, remarked, “Generative AI has already displayed remarkable potential across various applications in recent months. The adoption of these technologies seems to correlate with a substantial boost in productivity, but it’s not without its limitations, which are evident to its users.”

“Beyond more data and improved computing resources, these models shine when they are provided with high-quality, human-generated inputs,” Koutroumpis added.
