The sale of Cow urine is reported to have picked up in Gujarat in India after it is believed to boost immunity powers in the midst of coronavirus threat.
The Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog is reported to have told the media that the consumption of goumutra (cow urine) and condensed cow urine in Gujarat has gone up after the coronavirus outbreak. It has gone up to about 6,000 litres a day, the said.
In India, cow urine has been promoted by several cow entrepreneurs as a panacea for a number of diseases.
Apart from oral consumption, cow urine is also used in Gujarat as a body spray to ward off the deadly microbes. The Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog said that the demand for condensed cow urine was also high. This is used for drinking as well as gargling. Cow urine is also used for the production of hand sanitiser.
They claimed that cow urine improves digestion,, It strengthens lymphocytes and is also rich antioxidants, they said. The Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog officials said that cow urine killed bacteria and would be helpful in fighting coronavirus.
