After coronavirus struck the world, several theories and studies have come out on how it affects across the different ages. A new study from London has now revealed that people under 20 years of age are half likely to be infected with Coronavirus than others.
The study, published in journal Nature Medicine, pointed out that four out of five infected young ones showed no symptoms. Researchers of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine held the research. Their study was based on age based coronavirus transmission models based on data from six countries — China, Italy, South Korea, Singapore, Japan and Canada.
In the study, the researchers also came across wide variation in symptomatic cases linked to age. The researchers said that about 21 percent of those aged 10 to 19 were likely to show symptoms compared with 69 percent of over 70s. They also looked into how the school closures had impacted the spread of the deadly virus. The researchers claim that school closure did not have much impact on stopping the spread of the disease.
