BRICS Countries To Carry Out Genomic Sequencing of COVID19

With the country seeing a surge in Covid 19 cases for the last many weeks, the political parties in India are lending a helping hand to the government in the fight against the pandemic. Apart from the national parties, regional parties are also rallying behind the government.

BJP

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has directed its national general secretaries with monitoring the ‘Sewa Hi Sangathan-2 mission’ to help combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The party started the mission on the instructions of national president J P Nadda. The party had taken up the part one of the mission during the first Covid-19 wave. The BJP set up help desks starting from state to mandal level across the country. The respective BJP state units decided to extend all help to the respective state governments, Covid-19 patients and others to overcome the pandemic. The youth wing Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha also extends its help in providing hospital beds, medicines and oxygen cylinders. They have also set up blood plasma donation camps in across the country.

CONGRESS

The Opposition Congress was also quick to respond to the second wave of Covid 19 pandemic. Congress president Sonia Gandhi called the party workers to extend all assistance to the governments, Covid 19 patients and the people to tide over the pandemic. She noted that the battle against Covid 19 was beyond political alignments and the battle has to be fought together.

Meanwhile, Senior Congress leader Rahul Gadhi took to tweet saying “System’ failed, so it’s important to do Jan ki baat: In this crisis, the country needs responsible citizens. I request my Congress colleagues to leave all political work- just provide all help and ease the pain of our countrymen. This is the Dharma of the Congress family.”

The Congress is also for raising an army of Covid Sevaks to reach out and help distressed families. The aim is to build a dedicated force in every block and every district.

COMMUNIST

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has also set up help lines and formed relief committees in West Bengal, Kerala and some other states. The DMK in Tamil Nadu offered packages consisting of mask, hand sanitiser, soap, to the needy in some districts. The AIADMK also extended its support.

Similarly, regional parties in the other states have all extended their help for the government and the people to overcome the recent Covid 19 pandemic.
