CII comes up with Ayur Shield immunity clinic

Aimed at boosting immunity of the people, the The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on May 28 launched the Ayur Shield immunity clinic, which will bring together about 7000 Ayurveda clinics and shops under a common protocol.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan launched the project. During his inaugural speech, he said that Ayurveda Immunity clinics have a huge role to enhance immunity and prevent diseases. Welcoming the initiative, he asked the government as well as the Private Sector to work hand in hand to improve immunity of people.

Meanwhile, Kerala Health Minister K K Shylaja said that Ayurveda should be popularized. “Enhancing Immunity will prevent deaths in the State and hence such Immunity Clinics have huge significance,” she said.  The Health Minister also announced the launch of Ayurveda Community website – ayurvedacommunity.org which will be the one point center for all information related to Ayur Shield, an official release said.

Ayur Shield – Immunity Clinics was ideated and conceptualized by the Confederation of Indian Industry with the support of other Ayurveda Associations such as Ayurveda Medicine Manufacturers Association of India (AMMOI), Ayurveda Hospital Management Association (AHMA) and Ayurveda Management Association of India (AMAI).

CII Ayurveda Panel Convenor Dr PM Varier said that Ayur Shield will be an extension of Government Ayur Raksha Clinics, Varier is the Chief Physician at Arya Vaidyasala, Kottakal. “The model will attract more people to these clinics and the data collected from these clinics will be a proof to showcase how Ayurveda has enhanced people’s immunity with the availability of scientific evidence.” Dr Varier said.

Meanwhile, former CII Kerala State Council Chairman and Managing Director Dhathri Ayurveda Dr S Sajikumar said that Kerala will be able to show the world the power of Ayurveda which will revive the sector and will lead to increased employment opportunity.

The clinics will have common protocols, language to communicate, and documentation for proof of results. These clinics will function in all 6000 Ayurveda Medical shops and 1500 Ayurveda clinics in the State as specialty department, Ayurveda Medicine Manufacturers Association of India General Secretary Ramanathan said.

Ayurveda Hospital Management Association secretary Dr C S Krishnakumar said that Ayur Shield Clinics will function three days a week. The Ayur Sheild will focus on bringing collaborative effort of all entities in the industry namely clinicians, manufacturers and hospitals said,  Dr V Rajmohan, State Ayurveda Covid Response Cell.

Ayurveda Medical Association of India president Dr Raju Thomas, Arya Vaidyasala, Coimbatore Dr PR Krishnakumar, CII Ayurveda Panel co convenor Mr Baby Mathew and Covid 19 Taskforce member Dr J Hareendran Nair were present among others.
