Bollywood action thriller `War’, starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, has collected over Rs 300 crore from the theatres, making it the first movie of the year to cross the mark.
Produced by Yash Raj Films and directed by Siddharth Anand, the movies is now the 8th one to enter the Rs 300-crore club. This for the first time that Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, the heroes of the movie, joining the coveted club.
The film is about an Indian soldier assigned to eliminate his former mentor who has gone rogue. It was released on October 2. The movie set the record for the highest-opening day collection for a Bollywood film in India. It has raked in good reviews already.
The first Bollywood movie to collect Rs 300 crore was PK, starring Aamir Khan. With Dangal, Aamir again became part of the club. But, Salman Khan leads the list with three Rs 300-cr blockbusters in the Bollywood. His movies –Tiger Zinda Hai, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan – are in the club. Other actors in the club are Ranbir Kapoor (Sanju), Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor (both in Padmaavat).
This year, two moview have crossed Rs 200 crore mark. They were Kabir Singh, Uri – The Surgical Strike and Mission Mangal.
