A record 25 women in billionaire club in UK


More women in the United Kingdom has joined the billionaire club, which otherwise is a men’s club. This time, a record 25 women have entered the billionaire club, according to the Sunday Times Rich List 2020. The women who figure in the list have a wealth of more than 120 billion pounds.

Kirsten Rausing of TetraPak is on top of the rich list a 12.1 billion pounds. Her aunt Marit is the third richest woman in the country with a net worth of 9.6 billion pounds. Charlene de Carvalho-Heineken, heiress to Dutch brewing giant Heineken, is the second richest women in the UK. She has a worth of 10.3 billion pounds.

Former Miss UK Kirsty Bertarelli, who shares 9.2 billion pound pharmaceuticals fortune with Italian husband Ernesto is in the fourth place in the club list. Online gambling company Bet365 Founder and CEO Coates has a worth of 7.2 billion pounds worth in her name.  Hollywood actress Salma Hayek comes next. She shares her riches with her husband François-Henri Pinault and the pair shares a 6.6 billion pound fortune.

The list shows that Elisabeth Murdoch (second daughter of media tycoon Rupert Murdoch) is the newest member in the club. She has a wealth of 1.2 billion pound to her name.
